This national home furnishings retailer seeks an e-Commerce Merchandising Manager for their e-Commerce Team in Winnipeg or based remotely. As an e-Commerce Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing online merchandising plans that drive online conversion and increased average order value. You will align the retail merchandising strategy to online with a heavy focus on ensuring our customers have the full assortment available for purchase with enhanced product details and an optimized search experience to guide the online purchasing decision.The e-Commerce Merchandising Manager will oversee primarily their corporate site but may have direct inputs and responsibilities for other digital properties.

  • Ensure the online assortment’s product content is accurate, fully optimized, including attributes, images, buying guides, product reviews, etc. to maximize on site conversion
  • Maintain and enhance taxonomy, navigation, landing pages, category pages, and site layout
  • Optimize onsite search results and support boost and bury activity
  • Collaborate and lead decisions on accurate recommendation engine usage (upsell/cross sell)
  • Plan and execute online only promotions when appropriate
  • Assist in delivering bug fixes and new feature development through ideation to UAT
  • Constantly monitoring all KPIs related to web sales and seeking ways to improve
  • Report and provide insights on category / promotion / product performance weekly, monthly and yearly with plans to improve
  • Use data / test / target to drive decisions
  • Ensure website product pages are 100% ready for all high-impact company promotions
  • Promote and manage site layout for micro-seasons and major holidays, experience using the Shopify platform is preferred
  • Contribute to and Execute on Merchandising strategy
  • Provide Digital Marketing team with appropriate merchandise selections and message direction for site, emails
  • Develop merchandising plans to support overall company goals and external advertising digital placements
  • Collaborate with all areas of the organization (Supply Chain, Marketing, Merchandising, Senior leadership, Project Management, HR, etc.) to ensure full circle success of programs


  • 2+ years of direct ecommerce experience, with a solid understanding of merchandising, user experience, site operations, promotions, merchandising, brand positioning and business development associated with a top 50 online retailer with preference given to furniture/appliance retail
  • Strong leadership abilities with a mindset to grow the team beneath you
  • Expertise in planning, organizing and implementing strategic business plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Project design and/or management skills
  • Negotiation and relationship building skills
