A well-established and highly regarded culinary operation in Vancouver is seeking a hands-on Catering Chef de Cuisine to lead a high-performing kitchen team in a dynamic, event-driven environment. This is an opportunity for a composed, organized, and execution-focused culinary leader to step into a pivotal role within a fast-paced catering operation known for delivering high-quality experiences at scale. The successful candidate will bring structure, leadership, and consistency to a busy kitchen while elevating team performance and event execution. Reporting to senior culinary leadership, the Catering Chef de Cuisine will oversee a brigade of approximately 15 to 18 team members and take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a high-volume catering kitchen. This role is best suited to a leader who thrives in fast-moving environments, leads from the front, and brings a calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.

Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a brigade of 15 to 18 culinary team members
  • Oversee all day-to-day catering kitchen operations
  • Execute high-volume food production for events of varying size and complexity
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution standards
  • Provide hands-on leadership across prep, production, and event execution
  • Maintain strong organization and workflow to meet tight timelines and service demands
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven kitchen culture
  • Take ownership of key operational responsibilities and support overall business needs
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment across the kitchen team

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or senior kitchen leader in catering, banquet, or high-volume production environments
  • Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the front
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Calm, steady, and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Strong execution skills with a focus on consistency and operational excellence
  • Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and retain strong kitchen teams
