Summary
Our client, a well-established and rapidly expanding apparel retailer with multiple banners and hundreds of stores nationwide, is seeking a dedicated and highly analytical Data Analyst to support merchandising and inventory planning teams through objective, data-driven insights. This role is well suited to an analytical professional who is detail-oriented, methodical, and comfortable producing accurate reporting without emotional attachment to outcomes. The Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting merchandise planning, inventory flow, and demand analysis by ensuring data integrity and clarity across reports used to guide buying, allocation, and replenishment decisions.

Collect, validate, and organize merchandising and inventory data from multiple internal systems

Produce regular and ad hoc reports related to sales performance, sell-through, inventory levels, weeks of supply, and stock movement

Support merchandising and planning teams with clear, objective reporting to inform buying, allocation, and replenishment decisions

Assist in tracking key inventory metrics such as OTB, in-season performance, markdown exposure, and aging stock

Help maintain dashboards and standardized reporting tools used by merchandise planning and inventory teams

Identify anomalies, gaps, or inconsistencies in data and escalate findings appropriately

Collaborate closely with merchandising, planning, finance, and supply chain partners to understand reporting needs

Document data definitions, assumptions, and reporting methodologies to ensure consistency and repeatability

Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of data accuracy and integrity
Requirements

1–3 years of experience in a data analyst, merchandising analyst, inventory analyst, or planning support role (including internships or co-op experience)

Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques

Comfort working with large datasets related to sales, inventory, and product performance

Exposure to merchandising, inventory planning, or retail analytics concepts such as sell-through, weeks of supply, and replenishment is an asset

Experience with ERP, merchandising, or planning systems and BI tools is considered an asset

Ability to present data clearly and objectively, without emotional investment in outcomes

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Post-secondary education in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field preferred
