Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Retail Operations Manager to lead all back-of-house and operational functions within a high-performing luxury retail environment. This role is central to ensuring the boutique operates at the highest level of efficiency, precision, and brand standards, supporting both seamless client experience and strong commercial performance.
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for owning all store operations, including inventory integrity, logistics, vendor management, financial controls, and back-end execution. Working closely with the Store Manager and leadership team, this individual makes sure every operational element runs smoothly. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in structure, accountability, and continuous improvement, and who brings a disciplined, solution-oriented approach to complex operational challenges. You will be the operational backbone of the boutique, driving consistency, enforcing standards, and ensuring that every system behind the scenes supports the front-of-house team in delivering an exceptional luxury experience.
The salary range is $90,000 to $120,000
Description
• Own and lead all store operations, ensuring seamless backend execution, strong logistical coordination, and consistent alignment with luxury brand standards.
• Partner with the Store Manager as a key member of the leadership team, driving operational excellence and supporting overall store performance.
• Take full ownership of operational issue resolution, demonstrating sound judgment, decisive problem-solving, and accountability for outcomes.
• Set, monitor, and support performance expectations for all operational processes, providing coaching and feedback to improve efficiency and accuracy across the team.
• Oversee execution of visual merchandising directives and ensure the boutique consistently reflects impeccable presentation standards, including back-of-house organization and cleanliness.
• Lead onboarding and training of all new hires on operational procedures, systems, and compliance standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain, develop, and continuously improve all operational SOPs, manuals, checklists, and training materials to reflect best practices.
• Manage all inventory control processes, including data entry, cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure 100% accuracy between physical stock and POS systems.
• Oversee all banking procedures including daily deposits, reconciliation support, and strict adherence to financial controls.
• Process vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with financial policies.
• Manage operational budgets for supplies, services, and logistics, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising operational standards.
• Oversee all receiving, shipping, and logistics coordination, including courier and broker relationships to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.
• Act as primary operational contact for third-party service providers including security, cleaning, maintenance, and facilities vendors.
• Support planning and execution of in-store events, brand activations, and seasonal initiatives through operational coordination and logistical execution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment across all operational touchpoints.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence by proactively supporting colleagues and reinforcing high standards.
Requirements
• Proven experience in fine jewellery, luxury watches, or a comparable high-ticket retail environment
• Previous leadership experience in a premium or luxury retail setting
• Strong understanding of luxury client service, clienteling, relationship-based selling, and long-cycle sales
• Strong operational discipline with experience supporting opening and closing procedures, inventory control, cash handling, reporting, and compliance
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Confidence interacting with sophisticated, high-net-worth, and discerning clientele
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance client experience, operational execution, and commercial performance
