An established independent liquor retailer in Vancouver is seeking a highly organized and service-minded Store Manager to lead a busy retail environment with structure, consistency, and operational discipline. This role requires someone who can balance customer service, sales performance, team support, inventory control, vendor management, ordering, reporting, computer systems, and administrative follow-through. Liquor retail experience is considered an asset, but it is not required. Candidates with transferable experience in retail, grocery, hospitality, warehouse, purchasing, inventory, or operations will be strongly considered. $60K-70K plus substantial bonus programs
Description
- Lead day-to-day store operations with a focus on service, sales, team support, and operational consistency
- Create a welcoming, professional, and customer-focused store environment
- Support sales performance by ensuring strong product availability, store standards, and team engagement
- Coach, guide, and support team members in daily priorities, customer service, product knowledge, and accountability
- Help build a positive, stable, and dependable team culture
- Work closely with ownership to improve structure, communication, standards, and daily follow-through
- Manage ordering, purchasing, inventory flow, receiving, and product availability
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, including communication, ordering, follow-up, issue resolution, and product coordination
- Support product assortment, promotions, pricing awareness, and stock planning in partnership with ownership and vendors
- Maintain accurate inventory controls, including counts, tracking, receiving, reconciliation, and process improvement
- Oversee reporting, administration, documentation, and back-office functions
- Use computer systems and Excel to track information, support reporting, and improve workflow
- Identify operational gaps and implement practical improvements that support sales, service, and efficiency
- Monitor store standards, staffing needs, customer experience, inventory accuracy, and overall execution
- Support future business growth, with potential oversight of additional locations over time
Requirements
- 5+ years store manager experience - retail, grocery, warehouse, hospitality, purchasing, or operations experience considered an asset
- Interest in the liquor industry considered an asset - liquor retail experience preferred, but not required
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to support a positive shopping experience
- Experience supporting sales, store standards, and team performance in a retail or service environment
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Solid computer skills, including comfort working with Excel
- Experience with ordering, inventory, receiving, reporting, or back-office operations
- Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Efficient with time management and able to prioritize effectively
- Comfortable with repetitive, process-driven tasks
- Practical, hands-on, and reliable approach to work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to create accountability
